Welcome to experiment-s, this archive contains stuff for the attempt of building a compatible IP core of the famous ATARI computer models like the ST, STE, TT and Falcon. Here You will find source codes for several original custom chips and also of some interface chips. The archive's structure is similar to the opencores file structure. There is an Opencores document available (http://www.opencores.org) which describes in detail where you can find what. A copy of this document is also located in this archive in ./doc/opencores_cg.pdf. The softcore is written in VHDL. Most of the software cores are tested directly on an old ST hardware platform. Enhancements and the Falcon and TT relevant stuff is or will be tested on the SUSKA hardware which can be understood as an improved hardware over the old ST or STE machines containing partly TT or Falcon capabilities where it makes sense. Further information on the SUSKA hardware platform can be found in the hardware section of this archive. For impatient people: The synthesizable VHDL sourcecodes are located in ./rtl/VHDL and a packed version of the chips in ./archives/targz or ./archives/zip. Enjoy Wolfgang Foerster
