This is version 2K8A of the Suska IP core. ------------------------------------------ Important notes: We plan to release some compatible hardware to this core and require some feedback. There are two hardware version. The Suska-III-C (C stands for 'Clasic') board and the Suska-III-T (T stands for 'Tiny@) board. Please have a look on www.experiment-s.de for further information. Intorduction: This core is an Atari compatible core for the different ST machines. It includes all custom chips like GLUE, MMU (MCU), SHIFTER, DMA, BLITTER and SHADOW (Stacy, STBook) as also cores for the LSI chips originally used in these machines like the 68000 CPU (68K00), the multi function port MFP, the WD1772 floppy controller and the Yamaha sound chip YM2149. There are several add ons like SD card interface, IDE interface, real time clock, sound with a CODEC, SCSI/ ACSI bridge, Bootloader prepared for the Suska-III-C hardware but not tested up to now. There are also some hardware extensions on the Suska-III-C like USB and Ethernet also not tested up to now. Compiler notes: It is compiled (and tested) with following integrated development environments: Quartus II version 7.2 and up. This release is not tested for Xilinx. This release is prepared for Xilinx too. Progress: The core is tested on the Suska-III-C prototype boards. Emutos Desktop is working fine. The drive access in emutos is not working correctly up to now. TOS 1.00 Desktop is working fine but also with buggy drive access. TOS 1.02, TOS 1.04, TOS 1.62 and TOS 2.05 fail to boot. What's ahead: Enhancements to the 68K00 to meet the 68020 funtionality. Operate SCSI/ ACSI/SD-Cards together on the ACSI bus. Working USB interface. Working Ethernet interface. Getting all TOS versions working with Suska-III-C. MINT operating system on Suska-III-C. 20080714 Enjoy Wolfgang Foerster
